What better way to celebrate the 4th of July than spending the weekend at my "happy place"... Bear Lake.
Doing stuff like eating way too much food? You'd think my Mom would learn that we aren't feeding an army.
Playing on the slip-n-slide.
Painting our piggy toes. Even if Anberlin screamed like I was going to cut her toes off. Oh well. At least Ruby, Pearl, and yes, even Cole likes it.
Admiring the beautiful pink skies at night.
Watching the waves roll in. I love Bear Lake. It really lives up to it's name, Caribbean of the West.
Staking our claim on the "island" before the neighbors got there. They seem to think they can hog the entire beach so right after breakfast I'd truck down to the beach with the kids and dog and plop down on my chair to enjoy the beach.
Playing fetch with Blu. She loves, loves, loves going to Bear Lake and could swim all day...
... until she collapses from exhaustion.
Napping. I laugh when Jeff goes missing and I find him asleep somewhere.
Collecting seashells.
Going on 4 wheeler rides. Can you tell who followed who?
Finding a beautiful and secret camping site. If I wasn't paranoid about some bear eating my children, I'd want to camp here. It was very peaceful.
Being slightly jealous of Boyd and Carrie. I know you aren't supposed
to carve your initials into trees, but there's something so "young
love" about it that if I'd had a knife, I might have done the same thing
while waiting for Jeff to finish, um, you know.
It's hard being super fly.
Building sandcastles. And wondering when the last time you put sunscreen on the kids was.
And finally, pouting on the way home. I think the gorgeous sunset was Bear Lake's way of saying goodbye and we'll see you soon!
