I am the "nana" lady.
Every morning I pack a banana for Cole to eat when we get to school. I'm always worried that my kids are going to starve, especially if they haven't' eaten much for breakfast. But now it's more of a habit than a survival tactic. If I forget to grab his banana, Cole points at the counter and screams "NANA!!!" until I grab one. It's become such a habit, that as soon as we walk into daycare all the mobile babies and toddlers swarm around my legs shouting "Nana!" the instant they see me. It's really quite funny. And who says you can't buy friendship? Even if it's with a banana.
I wanted to remember the swarming of toddlers screaming "nana" at me, and Cole's obsession with them, so I did a little banana photo shoot of Fern eating his 2nd banana of the day. Now if we could only get him to learn how to make a monkey sound when he ate one.

Such a Fern face. His lips sort of scrunched up in this mischievous, angry sort of way. This is also the point at which you should brace yourself for a throw or scream.
Speaking of bananas, have you all seen Despicable Me? Now have you seen the three short minion movies on the DVD? One of them is called "Banana!" Three minions fight over a single banana, chasing each other around trying to be the one to get the banana. Then the three find themselves in a room full of minions. In slow motion, one minion points and yells, "Banana!" Then hundreds of minions start chasing the three with the banana. It is hilarious. And sort of reminds me of Cole's friends at school as they swarm him, trying to get their share of his banana.
I know I am biased, but he has got to be the darn-near most adorable thing this planet has ever seen! Gads he is cute, even after smashing banana on my legs and the carpet!
