So... I used to blog a lot.
I'm not sure what happened. I was kind of bummed about things and got in really bad habits of staying up late doing nothing important, just thinking or watching stupid T.V. shows to try to numb worries and depression. Nothing productive... well unless I mustered up enough motivation to take my poor, fat dog for a walk... that's a story for another day though. I just threw myself all out of whack for some reason and lost interest in a lot of things that I used to enjoy.
I'm still struggling with writing and blogging. Before it helped me process worries. And with my daily photo blog, it made me laugh and remember that even on the bad days, there's 364 good days with something funny or miraculous that happens. It helped me enjoy my life better, recognize my blessings, and remember all the stuff that makes up my real life.
But when I get so far behind on something, I get a tad overwhelmed and want to give up all together. It feels like it's not worth it and I'm a failure. That's kind of where I am with blogging. I stopped writing. I stopped taking a picture a day. And now, I'm wondering how I get started again. I know I need to create better habits to take care of myself physically so I'm not a raging crazy person the next day. Like going to bed at a decent time. It's kind of hard to figure out a balance. I blog at night, when it's quiet and everyone is asleep but that means I tend to stay up too late. I think of blog post ideas at times when I just can't blog. And they're topics that I want to process through writing but then days turn into weeks and weeks into months and pretty soon I've forgotten them all together.
I'm going to try harder. And simplify.
Instead of keeping two blogs - a family one and my daily photo blog - I'm going to try and be present. Be still. Be present in my kids' lives. My life. And document it in one spot. If I take a picture every day great. If I take one once a week, great. I'm going to play some catch up with my daily pictures because most of them have a funny story or memory I don't want to forget. So if you want to see anything from the last three months, you'll have to peruse back in the posts. I'll try harder to do my "Sunday YW Thoughts" posts about the lessons I teach in Young Womens. I'll try harder to process a few things I can't seem to get out of my head. And I'll do better capturing the silly moments that make up our life.
And hopefully, if I figure out this blogging, memory saving, journal-ing for posterity sake thing, I can conquer my bad habit of staying up way too late.
