An Entire Day All to Myself

An entire day all to myself.

Only a mom knows what significance this sentence has.

And only a mom would relish her time "alone" doing laundry, unloading the dishwasher, loading the dishwasher, scrubbing the counters, taking the dog to the vet, showering (and peeing) alone, vacuuming, making dinner, planning a birthday party, going to the grocery store, baking a batch of cookies for someone else, making a birthday present, taking the rambunctious dog on a walk, and packing everyone's bags for a weekend out of town. Oh, and checking work email for a few minutes to avoid any major crises because after five hours of housework you decide to actually take your regularly scheduled day off, leave the projects at the office for Monday, and stay home (to do more work).

And then coming home after being gone for two days, taking one look around the house, and wondering why you were so lazy on your day alone because it doesn't look like you did a single thing.
